What our clients say about our tours

  • Just a quick report that we have returned home safely following a great trip to southern Africa. Everything came off as planned and the experiences were everything that we had hoped for. We really enjoyed the bush camps since they provide a remote experience with lots of animals and few other tourists. The selection of camps provided an excellent balance of habitats and wildlife viewing. Additionally, we would like to thank Athol for his excellent leadership during the Eastern South Africa tour. He is a true gentleman and excellent guide and birder…. All around we were very pleased with the trip. And, thank you and the other staff at Rockjumper for helping to put the trip together.

    South Africa
  • I just wanted to pass on our thanks for a well organised trip. We had a ball in Cuba! Not only were the birds fantastic but the cigars, rum and country were mind-blowing. Our first RJ trip but I am sure that it won’t be our last. Well done to the team for arranging a hassle-free trip in a country where it can be difficult to organise things.

    T, Cuba
  • This was my third tour with Rainer and I was again impressed with his enthusiasm for birding. I know that sometimes when a leader does two back to back tours, they can be somewhat less enthusiastic than on the first tour. This was not the case with Rainer (or Glen either). Rainer was excited to show us each of the new birds and made certain that everyone got an excellent view. I had a special circumstance as I was recovering from a broken foot. Rainer made sure I was able to do everything on the tour without compromising the experience for the other participants. Without his help I would not have had such a superb experience. He is a very special young man.

    Bhutan
  • Both David and Rajveer were excellent guides. In fact, it seemed at times as though they were able to summon animals.

    RR, Northern India
  • David was very open and earnest. His english was excellent being that it is not his first language…. We very much enjoyed our time with him one to two on the extension

    GS, Madagascar
  • Rob Williams and the Rockjumper folks were absolutely fantastic in helping me after I lost my passport. They made sure I got back to Bogota for the embassy appointments, changing plans on the fly. Very impressive dedication to help customers.

    BA, Colombia 2017
  • I thought David was an excellent guide. He certainly knows his birds and was very passionate and I also found him to be very keen to discuss birds and pass on knowledge; I enjoyed being able to share his passion. I also found him to be friendly and I had the impression that he was always trying to make sure that the group was generally satisfied. He was certainly very thorough at making sure that everybody had seen all the birds.

    FH, Southern India
  • Markus is an exceptional guide, and I enjoy his dry wit. Despite a knee replacement only 3 months ago, I took this tout at this time in a large part because Markus was the guide.

    JN, Ghana 2015
  • Our guide, Adam Walleyn, was exceptional. His knowledge and enthusiasm is unparalleled.

    GB & DB, Madagascar 2017
  • Our guide, Gareth Robbins was excellent. His knowledge of the area covered was exceptional, sometimes down to the rock the bird might land on. His repertoire of the bird calls and songs was impressive. He was adamant about getting each of us on the bird, and his delight when we saw it was transparent.

AE, Eastern South Africa VIII 2015
  • This was our first Rockjumper trip and it was great. Forrest was an excellent guide, so knowledgeable about the birds and enthusiastic about all living things we came across!

    GH & CH, Cuba
  • Erik Forsyth is not only extremely knowledgeable but also accommodating and fun.

    KB, New Zealand 2017
  • I would recommend Rockjumper to my birding colleagues back in Cape May, New Jersey. Cuan and Rockjumper did an outstanding job in helping us plan our trip.

    EP, Cuan
  • Morocco was a fun and thoroughly enjoyable tour. How could it not be with David Hoddinott and Mark Beevers as leaders!!! They just make me want to go on more Rockjumper tours to see as many birds as I can. You have no idea how appreciative I am of them. They are great and generous and fun and so focused. I love that. They have an intensity that makes birding fun.

    MN, Morocco
  • Our recently concluded tour of Tanzania/Kenya, led by Rainer, was perhaps the best overall tour I’ve ever been on. The birding was good, the mammals great, as were the accommodations and food. Everything about the tour was outstanding, including Rainer’s leadership. It was the second time I’ve been on tour with Rainer (Madagascar, 2008) and hope to do so again…. Cheers

    D, Kenya & Tanzania
  • We had an absolutely fabulous safari in Tanzania!  The sights we saw were unbelievable – the giraffe standing at the edge of the road, the lion walking up to our vehicle and laying in our shadow, the dik-dik walking down the centre of the road toward us, the many leopards and cheetahs so close and of course, the wildebeest migration.  So much more!  Just unbelievable!
Markus was a marvelous leader.  He was so good with our granddaughters and could relate to them so well.  He was a big help to me and made sure I saw some birds.  It was a good combination of birds and animals.  Everyone else enjoyed the birds, also.
I could go on and on.  Rockjumper has top-notch people.  Thanks for all the help.

  • Both Wayne and Rich worked very hard to make this tour the success that it was. Rich was helpful in so many ways, and the two made an excellent team. Rich’s sense of humour was especially valuable.

    JB, Bhutan
  • Forrest Rowland is an outrageously skilled guide (I called him the Eagle-sighted Echolocator). Perfect organisation, perfect local guides, what more could one need? And the birding was better than first class. A perfect 10 on all counts!

    PR, Guyana
  • Gareth studiously worked to meet each participant’s individual needs without sacrificing the overall experience of the group. His audio sense and grasp of song probably even exceeded his other birding skills (which were quite formidable in the own right). His sense of humour and engagement with people was excellent.
